In a recent report, Calciomercato revealed that West Ham United are showing concrete interest in recruiting Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu this summer. It has been claimed that the Hammers are eager to bring the Spanish wide player back to England during the summer transfer period.
Deulofeu’s Impressive Numbers At The Dacia Arena
Deulofeu has proven his worth as a productive winger in Italian football during this campaign. The 27-year-old has featured in 24 matches for Udinese this season, netting eight goals and securing two assists across all competitions.
The four-time Spain international has proven himself to be a valuable contributor in the final third as he is averaging 2.5 shots, 2.1 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even distributed the ball with conviction in the opponent’s half after making 77.6% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

Should West Ham United Get Deulofeu On Board This Summer?
Deulofeu is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can cause a lot of problems for the opposition using his quickness out on the wide areas. He has got the eye to play a decisive pass in the attacking end of the field and can even strike the ball with power and precision from long range. The Spain international is a left-sided wide player but can even fill in as a winger on the right flank or operate as a centre-forward if needed.
A winger of Deulofeu’s skillset will be a massive coup for the Hammers as he will add a lot of quality to West Ham‘s match-day squad.
