In a recent report, Defensa Central mentioned that Real Madrid are facing stiff competition from Bayern Munich for AS Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing the French midfield ace as a replacement for Casemiro in the summer.
Tchouameni’s Impressive Form In French Football This Season
Tchouameni is experiencing another solid campaign at the Stade Louis II as he has managed to perform at a high level at the heart of Monaco’s midfield. The French sensation has been involved in 36 matches for the French outfit this season, netting three goals and grabbing two assists in various competitions.
The 22-year-old has anchored the midfield with conviction based on his average of 2.8 tackles, 2.7 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 1.6 shots, 0.5 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 86.5% in the French top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Should Real Madrid Snap Tchouameni Up This Summer?
Tchouameni is a tough-tackling midfielder who can make some crunching tackles to make a few solid interceptions at the centre of the park. He usually covers for his teammates at the back by clearing the danger when needed.
The French youngster can strike the ball with venom from long range and can make some promising runs with the ball from midfield.
Tchoumeni is primarily a holding midfielder but can even function as a box-to-box midfielder if required. He is an accurate passer of the ball but is still quite raw and would need time to settle into life at the Spanish capital. At 22, the future is quite promising for the Monaco whizkid as long as he can continue improving himself with each season.
The Frenchman will inject some quality and youthful exuberance to Carlo Ancelotti‘s midfield. Thus, the Madrid giants would be wise to orchestrate a move to snap Tchouameni up during the summer transfer window.
