Manchester United entertained Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they looked to pick up a win and secure qualification into the quarterfinal stage of the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils made a bright start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 41st minute when Renan Lodi scored with a good header for the visitors which meant that Man United were trailing 1-0 at the half-time break.
Ralf Rangnick’s men tried their best to net an equaliser but were lackluster in the final third. The contest finished with Man United suffering a disappointing 1-0 loss at home (2-1 on aggregate) which knocked them out of the Champions League.

The Spanish keeper made a couple of decent stops at the back but couldn’t do much about Lodi’s well-placed header late in the first half.

Dalot was strong in the air and made two good runs with the ball in the opponent’s half. He also didn’t shy away from having a strike at goal.
CB: Raphael Varane – 7/10
He made one important interception at the back and was a real threat in the Atletico half.

The English talent earned possession back a few times and made one key chance going forward.
LB: Alex Telles – 7.5/10
He did his fair share of defending and made a few decent runs with the ball down the left flank.
CM: Fred – 6.5/10
The Brazilian talent made two good runs with the ball but ran out of ideas in the final third.
CM: Scott McTominay – 6/10
He struggled to get into the flow of the game and was replaced after the hour mark.
RW: Anthony Elanga – 6/10
Elanga showed a few flashes of what he is capable of in the opponent’s half and made two interceptions during the game.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 6/10
The Portugal international created a couple of inviting chances for his teammates but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
LW: Jadon Sancho – 7/10
Sancho completed multiple dribbles down the left flank but has got nothing to show for his efforts.
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 6.5/10
The Portuguese superstar made a few decent runs with the ball but didn’t get a sniff at goal.
