Everton will entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon as they look to pick up a good result in front of their home fans. The Toffees suffered a 5-0 loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Frank Lampard will opt for a 3-4-3 formation and could make some changes to his first XI for his league clash at home. Ben Godfrey is expected to play from the start while Jonjoe Kenny will probably drop to the bench for this game.
3-4-3 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in between the sticks for the Toffees after he conceded five goals versus Spurs in his last league outing. Lampard could name a back three of Ben Godfrey, Michael Keane and Mason Holgate as they focus on keeping things solid on the defensive end of the field throughout the game.
Jonjoe Kenny will provide cover for the defensive positions on the Everton bench.
Midfield
Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
Vitaliy Mykolenko will fill in as the left wing-back while Seamus Coleman hopes to produce an energetic display on the right flank. Both of them will get the license to get forward and make some overlapping runs out on the wide areas.
Donny van de Beek and Andre Gomes will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if needed.
Attack
Demarai Gray should recover in time for this game and is expected to operate as the left-winger while Anthony Gordon gets the nod to impress as the right-sided wide player.
Richarlison will act as the focal point of the Everton attack. The Brazilian attacker has to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for his side up top.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will drop to Lampard’s bench but could come on to make an impact in the latter stages if the Merseyside outfit are in need of a goal by then.
