Everton entertained Leeds United at Goodison Park earlier today as they hoped to pick up a positive result in front of their home fans. The Toffees made an excellent start to the game and took the lead in the tenth minute when Seamus Coleman scored from close range. Michael Keane doubled Everton’s advantage with a powerful header just 13 minutes later. Frank Lampard’s men cruised to a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Anthony Gordon managed to kill the game off in the 78th minute with a well-placed strike as the contest finished 3-0 in favour of the Merseyside outfit.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the clash against the Whites.
GK: Jordan Pickford – 6.5/10
The English keeper did not have a save to make in the game and secured an easy clean sheet at home.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 8/10
He was defensively solid and deserves credit for his bravery in the lead-up to Everton’s opener.
CB: Mason Holgate – 7.5/10
Holgate made plenty of important clearances at the back and will be quite happy with the clean sheet.
CB: Michael Keane – 8/10
The English centre-back didn’t put a foot wrong on the defensive end of the field and scored his team’s second goal with a powerful header.
LB: Jonjoe Kenny – 7.5/10
Kenny did his fair share of defending and was quite lively in the opposition half. He managed to create two good chances in the final third.
RM: Anthony Gordon – 9.5/10
He was a constant menace for the Leeds defenders and finally managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 78th minute with a great strike. He came off the field with an assist to his name as well.
CM: Allan – 7/10
The Brazilian midfield ace earned the ball back a few times but had some promising moments in the Leeds half.
CM: Donny van de Beek – 7/10
The Dutch talent got stuck in with some solid tackles and made one good opportunity going forward.
LM: Alex Iwobi – 7.5/10
He tracked back to defend when needed and orchestrated multiple chances for others around him.
ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 7/10
Calvert-Lewin worked hard and led the line well for Everton. However, there was no goal for him today.
ST: Richarlison – 7/10
He secured an assist for setting up Gordon’s goal in the second half. However, Richarlison was a bit wasteful in the final third.
Substitutes:
CM: Dele Alli – 6.5/10
Alli created two decent chances in the opponent’s half.
LW: Anwar El Ghazi – 6/10
He offered very little after coming off the bench.
ST: Salomon Rondon – N/A
Rondon didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
