Tottenham Hotspur faced off against Watford at Vicarage Road earlier this afternoon as they focused on picking up a positive result on their travels. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first half but couldn’t make the decisive breakthrough as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Spurs dominated the game in the second half and finally managed to get their noses ahead in injury-time when Davinson Sanchez scored with a flicked header. In the end, Tottenham managed to grind out a 1-0 win away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham player performed during the clash against the Hornets.

GK: Hugo Lloris – 7.5/10

The French keeper made a few solid saves at the back and secured a good clean sheet on the road.

CB: Davinson Sanchez – 8/10

He was strong in the air and cleared the danger when needed. Sanchez ended up netting the winner in injury-time with a good header to seal the win for Spurs.

CB: Eric Dier – 7/10

Dier put his foot through the ball at times and did enough to restrict the Hornets from scoring a goal.

CB: Ben Davies – 7/10

He got stuck with some solid tackles and made one good chance in the final third.

RM: Emerson Royal – 8/10

Emerson made a few dangerous runs with the ball and created a lot of great opportunities for his teammates to score.

CM: Oliver Skipp – 6.5/10

The English midfield ace had a few lively moments but struggled to get a foothold in the game. He got replaced in the 69th minute.

CM: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg – 7/10

He was always willing to have a strike at goal and made a few decent chances for others around him.

LM: Sergio Reguilon – 7/10

The Spaniard performed his defensive duties well and caused a few problems for the Watford defenders from the left flank.

RW: Lucas Moura – 7/10

He made two good runs with the ball and engineered a couple of decent openings in the final third.

ST: Harry Kane – 7/10

The English striker was a constant menace in the final third but will be disappointed for not scoring today.

LW: Heung-min Son – 8/10

Son caused all kinds of problems for the opposition with his creativity and dribbling ability. He ended up picking up an assist for setting up Sanchez’s injury-time winner from his freekick.

Substitutes:

CM: Harry Winks – 6/10

He added some energy to Tottenham’s midfield.

CM: Giovani Lo Celso – N/A

Lo Celso hardly had any time to make an impact.

LM: Bryan Gil – N/A

He didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
