In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have held talks to recruit Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski. It is understood that Spurs have discussed a potential move to bring the Swedish sensation to North London.
Kulusevski’s Limited Role At Turin This Season
Kulusevski has mostly been used as a substitute at the Allianz Stadium during this campaign. He has been involved in 22 matches for Juve this season, netting one goal and providing three assists across all competitions.
Most of the Swede’s league appearances have come off the bench which could be why he is only averaging 0.9 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Serie A. However, the 21-year-old has been accurate when distributing the ball in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 84% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
What Will Kulusevski Bring To The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
Kulusevski has got electric pace in his locker and can complete a few excellent dribbles out on the wide areas. He can be a difficult man to stop when he is running at full swing towards the opponent’s penalty box. The Sweden international can also strike the ball with power and precision which makes him a goal-threat from long range. He is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also fill in as a left-winger or play in the number ten position or even as a striker if needed.
We can expect Kulusevski to bring some pace and creativity to Antonio Conte‘s attack if Spurs can find a way to get a deal done for him this month or at the end of this campaign.
Kulusevki is good enough to earn a regular starting place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. At the very least, he would add some healthy competition for the likes of Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura at the North London club in the coming seasons.
At 21, Kulusevski has got a great future in European football as long as he can ensure regular playing minutes in the future. Hence, Conte should think about engineering a move to secure his signature as the Italian tactician has got the experience to unlock the best out of the underperforming Juve attacker in English football.
