Barcelona will clash heads with RCD Mallorca at the Visit Mallorca Stadium on Sunday night as they try to collect all three points on the road. The Catalan giants were held to a 1-1 draw by Sevilla in their last league outing, so Xavi would want his players to return to winning ways this weekend.
The Barca boss could opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first XI for this game. We can expect to see Oscar Mingueza, Nico Gonzalez and Rique Puig to play from the start as Xavi has a lot of first-team players unavailable due to injuries.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Mallorca
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will feature in goal for the Catalan outfit after shipping in one goal in his last league appearance. Gerard Pique will once again function alongside Eric Garcia at the centre of the Barca backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Ronald Araujo will have to fill in as a makeshift right-back while Oscar Mingueza gets a start on the other flank as a makeshift left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Midfield
Xavi could choose to name a midfield three of Nico Gonzalez, Riqui Puig and Frenkie de Jong this weekend. The talented trio will have to work hard if they want to dominate the battle at the centre of the park and create enough chances to win this game.
Pedri and Sergi Roberto are both sidelined for this game due to injury while Gavi will also miss this clash after testing positive with Covid-19.
Attack
Ilias Akhomach could get a start on the left flank in the absence of Ousmane Dembele and Abde Ezzalzouli. Ferran Jutgla might get the nod to operate as the right-sided wide player while Luuk de Jong leads the charge for the Catalan outfit up top.
Both Philippe Coutinho and Sergino Dest are also out of action as they have tested positive with Covid-19 which means that the Barca bench won’t have a recognised attacker this weekend.
