Chelsea faced off against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to grind out a good result on the road and progress into the final of the Carabao Cup. The Blues controlled the game well in the first half and took the lead in the 18th minute when Antonio Rudiger found the back of the net with a good header. Thomas Tuchel’s men went into the half-time interval 1-0 to the good.

Both sides canceled each other out in the second 45 minutes as the contest finished with Chelsea securing a 1-0 win on the night and a 3-0 victory over the two legs.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player performed during the match against Spurs.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 7.5/10

The Spanish keeper made a few solid saves to restrict the opposition from scoring tonight.

RB: Cesar Azpilicueta – 6/10

He worked hard and was good on the ball but had a quiet game at right-back.

CB: Andreas Christensen – 7/10

Christensen cleared the danger when needed but could only last 65 minutes.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 8.5/10

Rudiger earned the ball back a few times and scored the only goal of the game with a solid header. He deserves to be named the man of the match.

LB: Malang Sarr – 7/10

CM: Jorginho – 7.5/10

The Italy international controlled the game well in midfield and made several important interceptions for his team.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 7/10

Kovacic showed a few glimpses of what he is capable of at the heart of Chelsea’s midfield before being substituted in the 76th minute.

RAM: Mason Mount – 7/10

The English playmaker created a couple of decent chances for others around him and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

LAM: Callum Hudson-Odoi – 7/10

He engineered a couple of meaningful openings for his teammates in the final third but there was no goal for him tonight.

ST: Romelu Lukaku – 6.5/10

The Belgian striker fashioned two good chances in the attacking end of the field but was a bit wasteful in front of the opposition goal.

ST: Timo Werner – 7/10

The German sensation caused a few problems for the opposition but didn’t do enough to get himself a goal.

Substitutes:

CB: Thiago Silva – 7/10

He did well to see out the win with the clean sheet intact.

RAM: Hakim Ziyech – 6/10

Ziyech made one good run with the ball.

LB: Marcos Alonso – 6.5/10

The Spaniard performed his defensive duties well and created a good chance after coming off the bench.

CM: N’Golo Kante – 6/10

He added some energy to Chelsea’s midfield.

CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – N/A

Loftus-Cheek hardly had any time to make an impact.
