West Ham United suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Leeds United in this week’s Premier League tie. The Hammers went behind in as early as the 10th minute of the game to Jack harrison’s opener. Bowen then equalized from a corner but West Ham again fell behind 3 minutes later after Harrison’s 2nd goal. Pablo Fornals equalised early in the 2nd half but Leeds secured a winner in the 60th minute with Jack Harrison’s hattrick goal and failed to increase the gap with Arsenal for a top 4 chase.
Let’s take a look at how each West Ham player performed during the match against the Whites.
GK: Lukasz Fabianski – 6/10
Fabianski made a couple of saves but unfortunately his save off Mateusz Klick fell to Adam Forshaw to tee up Jack Harrison. He could have done nothing else with the other goals conceded.
RB: Vladimir Coufal – 6.5/10
Vlamidir Coufal went forward well to create opportunities and was solid defensively from his side of attack.
CB: Craig Dawson – 5.5/10
Dawson made a few poor decisions in defence and should have scored from a close-range header.
CB: Issa Diop – 5/10
The French defender was poor for the whole game and was easily dribbled past on most occasions. He was also at fault for the 2nd Leeds goal as Luke Ayling ran off him to nod down an assist.
LB: Aaron Cresswell – 7/10
Aaron Cresswell gave an assist for the first Hammers goal and also completed some key passes going forward but was poor defensively as he was easily dribbled past quite a few times.
CM: Declan Rice – 7/10
The English midfield ace energized his team after a slow start and controlled the tempo of the game. He also drove into the box a couple of times.
CM: Manuel Lanzini– 6/10
Lanzini was pressed well by the Leeds players and had very less time on the ball and therefore couldn’t impact the game much.
RW: Jarrod Bowen – 7.5/10
The English speedster scored a brilliant goal with great movement inside the box. He also had a glorious opportunity to level it at the end but missed from close range.
CAM: Pablo Fornals – 7/10
Fornals finished off well for his goal but was relatively quite in attack and failed to create much.
LW: Nikola Vlasic – 5/10
Vlasic lost the ball in key attacking situations and didn’t have any impact on the game. He was substituted in the 61st minute.
ST: Michail Antonio – 6/10
The English forward saw very little of the ball and was kept quiet by the Leeds defenders for the whole game.
LW: Arthur Masuaku – 6/10
Masuaku failed to take advantage of a couple of good crossing situations.
RW: Andriy Yarmolenko – 6/10
Had very little impact on the game.
CB: Sonny perkins– N/A
He hardly had any time to make an impact.
