Real Madrid will welcome Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as both teams look to go all out for the three points and ensure their place as the winners of Group D in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos managed to earn a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad last weekend which will give them a lot of confidence ahead of this game. Similarly, Inter picked up an impressive 3-0 victory over AS Roma, so they will be eager to produce another strong display in midweek.
Carlo Ancelotti will stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and is expected to opt for a few changes to his first team in midweek. The Italian tactician could ask his players to dominate the ball and create enough clear-cut chances to win the game.
Simone Inzaghi will set his team up in a 3-5-2 formation and could make a few tweaks to his starting XI for this game. The Inter boss will instruct his men to soak in all the pressure and try to expose some of Real Madrid’s weaknesses on the counter.
Dani Ceballos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema will be sidelined for this clash. Ancelotti could also choose to rest Dani Carvajal and Casemiro for this game with an eye on the derby versus Atletico Madrid next weekend.
Real Madrid Predicted XI
Courtois; Vazquez, Militao, Alaba, Mendy; Valverde, Camavinga, Kroos; Vinicius, Jovic, Asensio
The Italian outfit will be without the services of Stefan de Vrij, Aleksandar Kolarov, Andrea Ranocchia, Matteo Darmian and Joaquin Correa for this clash. However, both Arturo Vidal and Lautaro Martinez are expected to play from the start in this midweek European game.
Inter Milan Predicted XI
Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Sensi, Vidal, Perisic; Dzeko, Martinez
Luka Jovic will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for Los Blancos along with Vinicius Junior up top in the absence of Karim Benzema, who is sidelined due to a hamstring problem. Both Eder Militao and David Alaba will need to be at the top of their game if the Madrid giants are to keep a clean sheet during the 90 minutes.
Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko would have to do most of the damage for Inter Milan in the final third. Nicolò Barella, Stefano Sensi and Arturo Vidal have to find a way to work hard collectively if they are to stop the home side from creating too many chances throughout the game.
