Chelsea faced off against Watford at Vicarage Road earlier tonight as they hoped to pick up all three points on their travels. The Blues made a solid start to the game and got themselves ahead in the 29th minute courtesy of Mason Mount’s goal from close range. However, the Hornets managed to net the equaliser just 13 minutes later when he found the back of the net with a brilliant finish. Both sides went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.
The West London outfit grew in confidence in the second half and finally managed to regain their lead in the 72nd minute via Hakim Ziyech’s finish. The contest ended with Chelsea earning a narrow 2-1 win versus Watford.
Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player performed during the match against the Hornets.

Chalobah was strong in the air and tidy with his passing. He got replaced in the 59th minute.

He won quite a few 50-50 aerial duels and was not afraid to clear the danger when needed. Christensen also made some crucial interceptions at the back.

The Spaniard was a solid defensive presence out on the right flank but offered very little going forward.

CM: Saul Niguez – 6/10
He struggled to get a foothold in the game and got substituted at half-time.
LM: Marcos Alonso – 7/10
The Spanish talent did his fair share of defending but his impact was minimal in the final third.

Mount opened the goal-scoring with a good finish and also set up Ziyech’s match-winner in the second half.
LAM: Christian Pulisic – 6.5/10

He cleared the danger when needed and did enough to secure a clean sheet for Chelsea in the second half.
