Aston Villa welcomed Leicester City at Villa Park earlier today as they focused on collecting all three points in front of their home fans. The Villans made a sloppy start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 14th minute when Harvey Barnes scored with a calm finish. However, Steven Gerrard’s men came up with a response just three minutes later as Ezri Konsa found the back of the net with a faint touch. Both sides fought tooth and nail and went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
It was Konsa who struck again for the West Midlands outfit in the 54th minute as he nodded the ball home from close range. The contest ended with the Villans securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the Midlands derby.
