Arsenal entertained Southampton at the Emirates Stadium earlier this afternoon as they focused on picking up a positive result in front of their home supporters. The Gunners made a great start to the game as they took the lead in the 21st minute via Alexandre Lacazette’s finish from close range. Martin Odegaard doubled the North London outfit’s advantage just six minutes later when he scored with a good header. Arsenal went into the half-time break with a healthy 2-0 lead.

Gabriel added another goal for the Gunners in the 62nd minute when he found the back of the net with a decent header. The contest ended with Mikel Arteta’s men cruising to a 3-0 victory at home.

Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player performed during the match against the Saints.

GK: Aaron Ramsdale – 8.5/10

The English keeper made a lot of important saves to keep his clean sheet intact. He also pulled off a crucial clearance at the back.

RB: Takehiro Tomiyasu – 7.5/10

The talented right-back was solid when defending inside his half and created one key chance in the final third.

CB: Ben White – 7/10

He got stuck in with a couple of tackles to make life difficult for the opposition. White was strong in the air and tidy with his passing.

CB: Gabriel – 7.5/10

The Arsenal defence got himself a goal with a good header after the hour mark. He kept things stable at the back as well and did enough to earn the clean sheet.

He anchored the midfield with conviction and engineered two good opportunities for his teammates to find the back of the net.

CM: Granit Xhaka – 6.5/10

The Swiss international protected his backline well but ran out of gas and got substituted in the 80th minute.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 8/10

Martinelli did his fair share of defending. He also orchestrated a few meaningful openings for others around him and picked a well-deserved assist in the process.

CAM: Martin Odegaard – 8/10
