West Ham United entertained Liverpool at the London Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to earn a big win in the Premier League. The Hammers made a dream start to the contest as Alisson Becker scored an unfortunate own goal for Liverpool in the fourth minute. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold made things level in the contest when he scored with an excellent strike in the 41st minute. Both sides went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Pablo Fornals regained West Ham’s lead in the 67th minute with a breakaway goal before Kurt Zouma doubled his team’s advantage with a good header from point-blank range just seven minutes later. Divock Origi scored a consolation goal for the Reds in the 83rd minute as the contest finished 3-2 in favour of the East London outfit.

Let’s take a look at how each West Ham player performed during the match against the Reds.

GK: Łukasz Fabiański – 6.5/10

The Polish keeper made a few solid saves to keep the Liverpool attackers frustrated. Still, he ended up conceding two goals which he couldn’t do much about.

RB: Ben Johnson – 8/10

He won a lot of 50-50 aerial battles and performed at a high level throughout the game. Johnson deserves the man of the match award for his incredible defensive performance.

CB: Kurt Zouma – 7/10

Zouma cleared his lines when needed and scored the decisive third goal for West Ham which was enough in the end for his side to bag all three points.

CB: Angelo Ogbonna – 6/10

The Italian defender bullied Alisson Becker to force the ball in from an early corner. He got injured twice and went off in the first half.

LB: Aaron Cresswell – 7/10

He did his best to stop Mohamed Salah from getting in behind him. Cresswell had to do a lot of defending this evening and mostly stood up to the test.

CM: Tomas Soucek – 6.5/10

Soucek tried his best to make life difficult for the Merseyside outfit at the centre of the park but offered very little going forward.

CM: Declan Rice – 6/10

Rice gave away a cheap freekick which Liverpool scored from in the first half. He struggled to get a foothold in the game but got bailed out by his teammates.

RW: Jarrod Bowen – 7.5/10

He was always willing to make runs with the ball and picked up two good assists this evening.

CAM: Pablo Fornals – 7.5/10

The Spaniard broke away and managed to beat Alisson with a good finish in the 67th minute. He also created two good chances in the opposition half.

LW: Said Benrahma – 6.5/10

Benrahma gave Alexander-Arnold a few problems with his tidy link-up play. However, there was no goal for him today.

ST: Michail Antonio – 6/10

The English striker worked hard but often came up second-best to Virgil Van Dijk.

Substitutes:

CB: Craig Dawson – 6/10

He gave away some cheap fouls which went unpunished. However, Dawson was strong in the air and made some crucial clearances at the back.

RB: Vladimír Coufal – N/A

Coufal hardly had any time to influence the game.

LB: Arthur Masuaku – N/A

He didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
