In a recent report, Calciomercato claimed that Newcastle United have entered the race to land Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic. It has been mentioned that the Magpies along with Genoa are in the running to acquire the services of the United States international.
Pulisic’s Injury-Plagued Season At Stamford Bridge
The 23-year-old has missed a major chunk of this campaign because of an ankle injury. Still, Pulisic has done well to produce a couple of impressive displays for the Blues in the Premier League so far. The former Borussia Dortmund whizkid has banged in two goals in six appearances for the West London outfit this season in all competitions.
Despite the lack of game time, Pulisic deserves some credit for averaging 1.3 shots and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the English first division. He has also proven his worth as an accurate ball-distributor after making 89.5% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Pulisic Add To Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe’s Team?
Pulisic can use his quickness and agility to make a few impressive dashes with the ball out on the flanks. He is versatile enough to function in any position across the frontline. The 42-time United States international is usually a composed presence on the ball and doesn’t throw away possession cheaply inside the opponent’s half. He has a knack for scoring goals quite frequently in the attacking third of the field and can even create some decent plays for others around him.
An attacker of Pulisic’s skill set will be an excellent acquisition for Newcastle United this winter as he will no doubt help them get out of the relegation zone and move up the Premier League table. The Magpies need to bring in some quality players if they intend to turn their fortunes around for the better in the second half of this Premier League campaign.
At 23, Pulisic will only get better with each season as long as he can overcome his recent injury problems. We can expect him to add a lot of goals and creativity to Eddie Howe’s frontline at St. James’ Park.
