Liverpool entertained Arsenal at Anfield earlier this evening as they looked to bounce back in the Premier League with a win at home. The Reds made a strong start to the game but were left frustrated for most of the first half by some terrific saves from Aaron Ramsdale. However, Sadio Mane finally broke the deadlock in the 39th minute with a well-directed header from close range. Jurgen Klopp’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

The Merseyside outfit were dominant after the restart and managed to double their lead via Diogo Jota’s composed finish from close range in the 52nd minute. Mohamed Salah added another goal in the 73rd minute before Takumi Minamino came off the bench to score with his first touch just four minutes later. The contest finished with the Reds securing a brilliant 4-0 victory at Anfield.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the clash against the Gunners.

GK: Alisson Becker – 7.5/10

The Brazilian goalie made a few solid stops when needed and earned another clean sheet at home.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8.5/10

Alexander-Arnold hardly had to do any real defending and produced a masterclass in the Arsenal half. He picked up two great assists during the game and played some mesmerising passes during the game.

CB: Joel Matip – 7/10

He cleared his lines when required and performed well enough to secure an easy clean sheet at Anfield.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 7/10

The Dutch defender made a few important clearances and controlled the game quite well from the back.

LB: Konstantinos Tsimikas – 7.5/10

He was solid inside his half and delivered some decent through balls in the final third.

CM: Thiago Alcantara – 7.5/10

The Spaniard kept the ball moving quite well at the centre of the park and even won the ball back a couple of times for his team.

CM: Fabinho – 7/10

The Brazilian midfield ace won a lot of second-balls in midfield and helped Liverpool dominate the game going forward.

CM: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7/10

He was always looking to get on the ball and run with it towards the Arsenal penalty box. However, he was a bit wasteful in the final third.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 8/10

The Egyptian winger kept pushing and finally got his deserved goal in the 73rd minute.

ST: Diogo Jota – 7.5/10

The Portuguese striker doubled Liverpool’s advantage after some clever footwork to lose Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale before he slotted the ball into an empty net early in the second half. However, he wasted two glorious chances as well.

LW: Sadio Mane – 8.5/10

Mane gave the Reds the all-important lead with a good header in the 39th minute. He also secured an assist for setting up Salah’s goal.

Substitutes:

ST: Takumi Minamino – 7/10

The Japan international came off the bench to score with his first touch.

CM: Jordan Henderson – 6/10

Henderson kept possession moving quite well at the centre of the park.

CM: Tyler Morton – N/A

The youngster hardly had any time to make an impact.
