Everton faced off against Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium earlier today as they hoped to pick up a positive result at home. The Toffees made a poor start to the game as they conceded a penalty in the 24th minute which Ivan Toney successfully converted to give the home team the lead. Rafael Benitez’s men failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
The Merseyside outfit produced a lackluster display in the second 45 minutes as they failed to finish off any of their chances. Benitez’s side ended up losing the contest by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the clash against the Bees.

The Toffees keeper made a couple of good saves but couldn’t stop Toney from scoring his penalty in the 24th minute. He also pulled off a few important clearances for his side.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 8/10
Coleman gave a good account of himself by putting in a battling display on the defensive end of the field. He even completed a few energetic dribbles with the ball and made a couple of good chances for his teammates.
CB: Ben Godfrey – 7/10
He made multiple last-ditch clearances at the back and got stuck in with a few solid tackles inside his half.
CB: Michael Keane – 7/10
Keane cleared the danger when required and made one crucial interception at the back.
LB: Lucas Digne – 8/10
The Frenchman was defensively solid and engineered a few decent chances in the final third. He also made two encouraging runs with the ball down the left wing.
RM: Andros Townsend – 6/10
He made some decent openings for others around him but could last only 69 minutes.
CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6/10
Doucoure protected his backline well but offered very little in the Brentford half.
CM: Allan – 6.5/10
The Brazilian midfield ace was always willing to make a tackle to make life difficult for the opposition. However, he failed to make an impact in the final third.
LM: Anthony Gordon – 6/10
He worked hard but struggled to influence the game in the attacking third of the field.
CAM: Alex Iwobi – 7/10
Iwobi caused a lot of problems for the opposition defenders with his quick runs. He even had a couple of shot attempts but there was no goal for him.
ST: Salomon Rondon – 6/10
Rondon was a constant threat but wasted a lot of chances to find the back of the net.
