Leeds United are aiming to get back to winning ways as they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The Whites are unbeaten in their last three league matches but have registered only two wins in the season so far. Securing three points against Antonio Conte‘s men could be vital as they look to push up the league table.
Predicted Leeds United Lineup Vs Tottenham
Defence
Marcelo Bielsa hasn’t delivered overly positive news heading into this game. Robin Koch remains out injured while Luke Ayling is in the process of recovering. Both have been ruled out for the Tottenham game, with Junior Firpo also a major doubt.
As such, Bielsa may have to persist with the central defensive combination of Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper. The two need to be at their toes up against the mighty Spurs attack that will look to make an impression under Conte.
The absence of Firpo and Ayling, meanwhile, could see Stuart Dallas operate in the left-back while Jamie Shackleton might get the nod at right-back. They will look to offer offensive support and provide width going forward, but may also need to chip in defensively.
There should be no change in goal, with Illan Meslier seemingly establishing himself as one of the best young keepers in Europe.
Midfield
In midfield, Marcelo Bielsa could continue with Adam Forshaw in the double-pivot alongside Kalvin Phillips. Forshaw is likely to be given more freedom with his attacking game while the onus will be on Phillips to offer the stability in the middle of the park.
With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp likely missing for Tottenham, it will be an opportunity for the two to dominate the opposition midfield and create scoring chances in the final third.
Attack
As for the attack, Patrick Bamford remains out, meaning Rodrigo Moreno and Dan James could once again spearhead the Leeds United frontline. Their pace and creativity could be useful as the Whites look to take advantage of Spurs’ leaky defence.
Not many changes are expected elsewhere, with Raphinha and Jack Harrison once again operating as wide attackers. They offer pace and trickery to the table, with Bielsa also having the option to deploy the likes of Tyler Roberts and Crysencio Summerville.
