Everton will lock horns with Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday evening, hoping to pick up a positive result away from home. The Toffees will be heading into the contest on the back of a 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, whereas Pep Guardiola’s men recorded a 2-0 win against Manchester United on November 6.
Rafael Benitez will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation; however, he might keep changes to a minimum for the upcoming clash.
4-3-3 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester City
Jordan Pickford is expected to start in goal for the upcoming away encounter. The English shot-stopper would be hoping to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Sunday.
Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey might form the customary centre-half partnership at the heart of Everton’s backline as they look to prevent Pep Guardiola’s men from finding the back of the net throughout the 90 minutes.
Full-backs Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne will continue to operate down the right and left-hand sides respectively.
“To be fair, all of them are progressing well, but they’re not ready yet.” – He stated.
“The squad is fine, the training sessions have been quite intense so everybody was quite positive. We know we will play against a good team but we’re confident we can do well.
“Our last game against Tottenham, the team showed character and the right mentality. It’s what we have to do in every game.”
Fabian Delph and Allan will slot in as the holding midfielders; however, the latter could be assigned more of a central role as his ball distribution could be decisive if the Toffees wish to dominate things at the centre of the park.
Andros Townsend will slot into the attacking midfield role. He would be determined to engineer some clear-cut goal-scoring chances for the men upfront.
Tom Davies will have to settle for a place on the bench but might be called on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon will take up the wide positions, playing down the left and right-wing respectively.
Richarlison should be fit to take up the striker spot on Sunday night as he seems set to create menace for the City defenders through the central areas. The Brazilian will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net when he faces off against the City defence that has conceded four goals in their last three matches across all competitions.
