Barcelona locked horns with Dynamo Kyiv at the NSC Olympiyskyi earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a positive result away from home. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first 45 minutes but struggled to be clinical in the final third as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

The Catalan giants made a solid start to the second half and managed to take the lead in the 70th minute courtesy of Ansu Fati’s goal. Barca hung on to their narrow advantage and earned an impressive 1-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player performed during the match against Dynamo Kyiv.

GK: Marc-André ter Stegen – 7.5/10

The German keeper made some crucial saves at the back and will be quite happy with the clean sheet today.

RB: Oscar Mingueza – 7/10

He did what was asked of him defensively and created some decent chances for his teammates in the final third.

CB: Eric Garcia – 7.5/10

The Spanish defender kept a solid shape inside his half and made some important clearances during the game.

CB: Clement Lenglet – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties quite well and was even a constant threat at the other end of the field.

LB: Jordi Alba – 7/10

Alba made two important interceptions during the game and was quite lively in the opponent’s half.

CM: Nico Gonzalez – 7/10

He was full of energy at the centre of the park and made a handful of promising runs from midfield.

CM: Sergio Busquets – 7/10

The Spaniard anchored the midfield with a lot of confidence but offered very little in the final third.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 6/10

He struggled to get into the flow of the game and produced a forgettable display at the centre of the park.

RW: Gavi – 7/10

The youngster made two good runs with the ball but offered very little in the final third.

ST: Memphis Depay – 7/10

Depay engineered plenty of opportunities for his teammates to score but couldn’t find the back of the net himself.

 LW: Ansu Fati – 8/10

Fati caused all sorts of problems for the Dynamo Kyiv centre-backs and scored the only goal of the game tonight.  He just about deserves the man of the match award.

Substitutes:

RW: Ousmane Dembele – 6.5/10

He showed some signs of promise after coming off the bench.

CB: Ronald Araujo – 6/10

Araujo did well to see out the victory with the clean sheet intact.

LB: Alex Balde – N/A

He didn’t get enough time to warrant a rating.
