Manchester City entertained Burnley at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a routine victory at home. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game and got themselves ahead in the 12th minute via Bernardo Silva’s goal. The home side controlled the game well and went into the half-time interval with a narrow one-goal lead.

Kevin De Bruyne finally made the points for the Mancunian giants in the 70th minute when he found the back of the net. The contest ended with Man City securing an impressive 2-0 win in front of their home supporters.

Let’s take a look at how each Man City player performed during the match against the Clarets.

GK: Zack Steffen – 7/10

Steffen made two good saves in the game and did enough to earn a comfortable clean sheet at the Etihad.

RB: Joao Cancelo – 7.5/10

The Portuguese full-back was strong at the back and was quite lively in the final third. However, there was no goal or assist for him today.

CB: John Stones – 6.5/10

The English centre-back was strong in the air and did enough work defensively to secure the shutout.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 7/10

He got stuck in with a couple of tackles and was quite solid inside his half. Laporte got replaced in the 71st minute.

LB: Nathan Ake – 7/10

Ake did well to fill in as a makeshift left-back. He cleared his lines when needed and didn’t do too much wrong in the game.

CM: Bernardo Silva – 8/10

The Portugal international gave his team the lead in the 12th minute and was a constant menace in the final third.

CM: Rodri – 7.5/10

Rodri protected his backline quite well and will be quite content with the clean sheet today.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7.5/10

The Belgian playmaker created two decent chances for his teammates to score. He went on to kill the game off for the Mancunian outfit in the 70th minute.

RW: Riyad Mahrez – 7/10

Mahrez caused all kinds of problems for the Burnley defenders and was unfortunate not to get his name on the scoresheet.

ST: Raheem Sterling – 7/10

The English winger had a few lively moments in the game but didn’t get too many sniffs at goal.

LW: Phil Foden – 6.5/10

Foden was a threat in the final third but didn’t have his shooting boots on during his time on the field.

CB: Ruben Dias – 6/10

Dias did well to see out the clean sheet.

CM: Fernandinho – N/A

He hardly had any time to make an impact.

ST: Cole Palmer – N/A

Palmer didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
