Manchester United faced off against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium earlier today as they looked to pick up all three points on the road. The Red Devils began the contest on the front foot and took the lead in the 19th minute via Mason Greenwood’s wonder goal from long range. Youri Tielemans equalised for the Foxes just 12 minutes later with a classy strike from outside the Man United penalty box. Both sides went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

The East Midlands side grew in confidence in the second half and finally got their noses ahead in the 78th-minute courtesy of Caglar Soyuncu’s finish from point-blank range. However, his goal was cancelled out by Marcus Rashford who equalised for the Red Devils in the 82nd minute with a calm finish.

Leicester refused to lay down and managed to take the lead once again just one minute later when Jamie Vardy found the back of the net with a wonderful half-volley. Brendan Rodgers’ men killed the game off in injury-time as Patson Daka put the icing on the cake when he scored from point-blank range. Man United ended up losing the game 4-2 which put a stop to their long unbeaten run away from home in the Premier League.

Let’s take a look at how each Man United player performed during the clash against the Foxes.

GK: David de Gea – 7/10

The Spanish keeper made some important saves to keep his side in the game. However, he will be disappointed after letting in four goals today.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

Wan-Bissaka struggled to influence the game in the final third and looked quite shaky when defending inside his half.

CB: Victor Lindelof – 5/10

Lindelof started the game well but completely capitulated in the final quarter of the match. Not the best day in the office for him.

CB: Harry Maguire – 4/10

The English centre-back was too slow to react to the danger and failed to offer any real protection for de Gea at the back.

LB: Luke Shaw – 5/10

Shaw tried to link up play with his teammates going forward but was lacklustre in the opponent’s half. He looked tired in the second 45 minutes.

CM: Nemanja Matic – 5/10

He made life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park but his lack of pace often put his teammates at a disadvantage.

CM: Paul Pogba – 5/10

Pogba struggled to get a foothold in the game as the Leicester players outnumbered him throughout the 90 minutes.

RW: Mason Greenwood – 7/10

The English winger scored a fantastic goal to give Man United the lead. However, he wasted a couple of decent chances in the second half.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10

The Portugal international created some meaningful openings for others around him but did not look like he had a goal in him.

LW: Jadon Sancho – 5/10

Sancho tried to make things happen but was toothless in front of the opposition goal.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 5/10

Ronaldo got a few half-chances during the game but couldn’t take any of them. It was a frustrating outing for him today.

Substitutes:

LW: Marcus Rashford – 7/10

Rashford came off the bench to score with a clinical strike. However, it was not enough for his team to get anything out of this game.

CAM: Jesse Lingard – 5/10

He struggled to get into the flow of the game.

CM: Scott McTominay – 5/10

He was mostly a passenger in the final moments of the game.
