Leeds United clashed heads with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result and progress into the next round of the EFL Cup. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first 45 minutes but struggled to make the decisive breakthrough as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Callum Chambers gave Arsenal the lead in the 55th minute when he nodded the ball home from close range. Just 14 minutes later, Eddie Nketiah killed the game off with a composed finish as the Whites ended up losing the cup tie by a 2-0 scoreline.

Let’s take a look at how each Leeds United player fared during the contest against the Gunners.

GK: Illan Meslier – 6/10

The Whites keeper had a tough game but still managed to make a couple of decent saves at the back.

RB: Cody Drameh – 6.5/10

Drameh got stuck in with some solid tackles and orchestrated two meaningful chances in the final third.

CB: Diego Llorente – 7/10

The Spanish defender was a dominant defender in the first half and made two chances for his teammates to score.

CB: Pascal Struijk – 6/10

Struijk won the ball back a couple of times and didn’t take too many risks with his clearances.

LB: Stuart Dallas – 6/10

Dallas kept a good shape at the back but struggled to make an impact in the final third.

CM: Kalvin Phillips – 6.5/10

The England international protected his backline with conviction but failed to influence the game up top.

CM: Adam Forshaw – 6/10

He was mostly a passenger on the field in the first half and got substituted at half-time.

RW: Jack Harrison – 6.5/10

Harrison squandered some decent chances to score. However, he deserves credit for being a constant menace in the final third.

CAM: Tyler Roberts – 6/10

He was a bit wasteful with his finishing in the final third and got replaced early in the second half.

LW: Daniel James – 6/10

James managed to create two good chances in the final third. However, there was no goal for him tonight.

ST: Rodrigo – 6/10

Rodrigo set up some decent opportunities for his teammates but hardly got a sniff at goal himself.

Substitutes:

CM: Mateusz Klich – 6/10

He put in a disappointing performance in the second half.

ST: Joe Gelhardt – 6/10

The youngster was lively at times but couldn’t get a goal back for Leeds.

CB: Liam Cooper – 5/10

He was far from convincing on the defensive end of the field.

ST: Sam Greenwood – 6/10

The talented youngster put in a nice cameo in the final quarter of the game.

RW: Crysencio Summerville – 6/10

He made one good chance in the final third.
