In a recent print edition (6th October, Page 14), Gazzetta dello Sport mentioned that Arsenal will face competition from AC Milan in pursuit of Club Brugge winger Noa Lang. It is understood that the Gunners are showing interest in the Dutch wide player but will have to rival Milan in the race to land him.

Lang’s Impressive Season In Belgian Football

Lang has made an incredible start to this campaign after producing a run of impressive displays down the left side of Brugge’s attack. The former AFC Ajax youngster deserves credit for scoring four goals and grabbing four assists in 13 matches for the Belgian outfit this term on all fronts.

The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer as the left-sided winger for Brugge based on his average of 2.3 shots, 1.8 key passes and 2.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Jupiler Pro League. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 79% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Lang has proven himself to be one of the most promising young wingers in Belgian football, so the Gunners would do well to win the chase for his services during the January transfer window or at the end of this campaign.

What Will Lang Bring To North London?

Lang is a quick and agile winger who can make some clever runs with the ball out on the wide areas. He excels at getting to the by-line and can whip in a few dangerous crosses into the opponent’s penalty area. The Dutch wing wizard has shown recently that he can be quite creative with his passing in the final third. Plus, he can even contribute by netting his fair share of goals from the left flank.

At the moment, Arsenal can undoubtedly use a player of Lang’s quality and potential as Mikel Arteta looks to build a strong squad capable of challenging for some major silverware in the coming seasons. The Dutch attacker will offer some healthy competition for Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium.

We can also expect Lang to bring plenty of goals and assists to Arteta’s frontline. Therefore, the Gunners boss should think about engineering a move to secure Lang’s signature in the not-too-distant future.
