Tottenham Hotspur locked horns with Chelsea earlier this evening, hoping to pick up all three points on their home turf. Thiago Silva opened the scoreline in the 49-minute-mark as he headed the ball past Hugo Lloris from a set-piece situation. Just eight minutes later, N’Golo Kante took a shot from a distance that took a significant deflection off Eric Dier to end up in the back of the net. Antonio Rudiger scored in the 2nd minute of added time to secure a thumping 3-0 victory for the visitors.
Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham player fared during the clash against the Blues.
Tottenham Hotspur Players Rated In Loss Vs Chelsea
Hugo Lloris 6.5
The France shot-stopper didn’t have much luck in between the sticks tonight. He pulled off a couple of decent saves in the second half, but it hardly made a difference to the final outcome.
Sergio Reguilon 5.5
The Spain left-back was given the license to advance down the left flank, but his crosses were way too poor to trouble the likes of Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger.
Eric Dier 6
The English centre-half had a fantastic first half as he did everything right to contain Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz. However, once Chelsea broke the deadlock, the entire back-line was at sixes and sevens. He made an impressive goal-line block to prevent Marcos Alonso from finding the back of the net, though.
Cristian Romero 6
Similar performance to his partner Eric Dier, Romero had a brilliant first forty-five minutes, but everything fell apart after Thiago Silva’s goal. However, he made some decent interceptions and blocks to take the sting off Chelsea’s attacks time and again.
Emerson Royal 6.5
The former Barcelona star was Tottenham’s best defender on the pitch. He made sure that nothing got past him down the right flank.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 6
The Danish midfielder put up a tremendous work rate at the centre of the park as he retained the ball exceptionally well for the hosts. However, it seemed as if he was chasing a lost cause for the majority of the second forty-five minutes.
Tanguy Ndombele 6
The Frenchman pulled off some nice tricks to beat his marker and advance into the dangerous areas with the ball. However, he was replaced by Oliver Skipp at the 62nd minute.
Dele Alli 5
A few good link-ups in the opposition half, but that’s all he had to offer. Perhaps, he could have done more to prevent Thiago Silva from bagging the opener.
Giovani Lo Celso 6.5
The Argentine international started the game on a strong note as he created plenty of menace for the Chelsea defenders down both flanks. He even set up a crisp goal-scoring chance for Son Heung-Min in the 33rd minute.
Harry Kane 5
You’d expect a player of his calibre to have more impact on this sort of a game, but it would be an understatement to state that he disappointed tonight. He hardly made any runs to worry the opposition defence and never really looked like he had a goal in him.
Son Heung-Min 5.5
The South Korean striker was deprived of service throughout the ninety minutes.
