Barcelona will face off against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night as they try to pick up a win on the road. The Catalans suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss at the hands of Benfica which will no doubt drain their confidence ahead of this game.
Ronald Koeman is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation as he looks to find the winning formula this weekend. Philippe Coutinho could get a start for Barca while Eric Garcia gets demoted to the bench following his nightmare display in midweek when he was at the receiving end of a red card.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Atletico Madrid
Marc-André ter Stegen will play in goal for the Catalan side after he shipped in three goals versus Benfica in his last outing. Gerard Pique will operate alongside Ronald Araujo at the heart of the Barca backline as they focus on stopping the home side from scoring during the contest.
Sergi Roberto will function at right-back while Sergiño Dest hopes to catch the eye on the other side as a makeshift left-back. Both of them will have to make sure that they perform their defensive duties well if Barca are to have a chance of securing something from this game.
Eric Garcia and Oscar Mingueza will have to be content with a place on the bench as they offer cover for the centre-back spots.
Pedri will share a place along with Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong in the Barca midfield. All three of them will have to find a way to orchestrate a few decent opportunities for their teammates in the final third.
Riqui Puig and Gavi will be named on the bench as they await their chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Philippe Coutinho could get a chance to put in a productive showing down the left-wing while Memphis Depay carries some of the goal-scoring workload on the right. Luuk de Jong will spearhead Koeman’s attack once again after a lacklustre display in midweek.
Ansu Fati will make up the numbers on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if required.
