Everton will clash heads with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they try to secure all three points on the road. The Toffees managed to earn a 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town in the EFL Cup second round earlier this week which will give them some more momentum going into this exciting league clash away at Brighton.

Rafael Benitez will probably opt for a 4-4-2 formation and is expected to make plenty of changes to his first XI for this game. Both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison will lead the line for the Merseyside outfit after being rested against the Terriers in midweek. Fortunately, Benitez has no fresh injury concerns to deal with ahead of this match versus Graham Potters’ men.

Jordan Pickford will feature in goal for the Toffees after shipping in two goals versus Leeds United last weekend. Yerry Mina will resume his defensive partnership with Michael Keane at the heart of the Everton backline as they look to restrict the Seagulls from finding the back of the net this weekend.

Seamus Coleman will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Benitez will offer both of them the freedom to express themselves in the attacking end of the pitch.

Mason Holgate will offer cover for the defensive positions on Benitez’s bench.

Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will play as the holding midfielders as they try to make life difficult for the Brighton attackers at the centre of the park. Demarai Gray will look to stretch the opposition defence by making some quick dashes down the left flank. Alex Iwobi could get a chance to impress on the right-wing following his goal-scoring display in midweek.

Tom Davies and Andre Gomes will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if required.

As mentioned earlier, Richarlison will play along with Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top. Both of them will be eager to get their names on the scoresheet and keep their good form going in the Premier League.

Moise Kean will have to settle for a spot on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Benitez decides to call upon his services.
