It has already been one week since the 2020/21 edition of the Premier League came to a conclusion. Tottenham Hotspur were one of the losers in what was a fairly hectic campaign, ridden with tight schedules, with the lack of fans making it all the more difficult, especially in the new stadium. It results in Spurs finishing seventh in the Premier League, somehow securing European football next season.

Here, at the 4th Official, we will be taking a look at three of the best players for Tottenham Hotspur in this largely disappointing 2020/21 campaign, as the Lilywhites brace themselves for a transitional season ahead.

Three Best Players For Tottenham This Season

Harry Kane

Harry Kane has been, without a doubt, the best player at Tottenham, and one of the best in the whole of Europe, notably winning the Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals. He was also the leading assists provider, with 14 assists.

It is quite an impressive tally for any striker and Spurs would have finished mid-table or below had it not been for the exploits of their talismanic forward. Kane, in fact, was one of the few players to thrive under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, visibly improving his creativity and adding a whole new dimension to his game.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, Kane’s chapter at north London could soon come to an end, as reports suggest he is unsettled, following the club’s lack of success in recent years. It will be a major blow for Tottenham, especially ahead of the new season where they are expected to rebuild and start from scratch.

Son Heung-Min

One star player who is more likely to stay at the club, however, is Son Heung-Min. In fact, the South Korean international was a vital part of the club’s early-season success, building a truly unstoppable strike partnership with Kane that made the Tottenham potential title contenders.

Son’s performances did dissipate as the game progressed, with the attacker being completely ineffective during the final stretch of the campaign. Son’s tally of 17 goals and 10 assists, though, cannot be overlooked, as it played a major role in helping Spurs attain a top-seven finish in the league.

Son, though, really needs to learn playing without Harry Kane and making himself more useful in possession if he is to remain a vital asset to the club going forward.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was one of the bargains of the Premier League last season when he joined from Southampton to Tottenham. He has indeed been a revelation for his new club, emerging as a leader in the middle of the park.

While Son and Kane caused havoc for opposition defenders going forward, it was Hojbjerg who kept things neat and tidy in midfield. He also did most of the dirty work in the press, providing cover for the vulnerable back four.

Although the Dane could not finish the campaign on a positive note, the amount of football he has played this season has been truly commendable. His skillset in midfield could also make him a real leader for Tottenham in the future.
