According to Daily Star, Leeds United are ready to sign Jack Harrison on a permanent deal. The Whites have opened talks with Manchester City regarding a permanent switch to the Elland Road and are prepared to pay around £15 million, with Harrison himself also keen on prolonging his stay at Yorkshire after three years at the club.

Jack Harrison’s Success In The Premier League

Jack Harrison was one of Leeds United’s main protagonists in their promotion winning campaign in the Championship last season, but following the extension of his loan contract last summer, there were questions raised over his credibility and whether or not the winger had the quality to shine in the Premier League.

Fast forward to the final matchday of the 2020/21 campaign, Harrison has silenced his critics expertly, scoring eight goals in 35 league matches. In fact, the winger has eclipsed his goals tally from last season in the Championship, and his contributions have indeed been critical in helping Leeds United enjoy a successful season in the Premier League.

Indeed, the Englishman has been a mainstay on the left-hand side of Marcelo Bielsa’s setup. The player has offered the much-needed dynamism going forward while his manic work ethic has made him an ideal fit in the Argentine’s tactical philosophy at the club.

Only Patrick Bamford has been involved in more goals in all competitions for Leeds United than Harrison this season – making him a massive success in the Premier League.

Why Leeds Should Seal The Deal For Harrison

Leeds United are bracing themselves for a potential rebuild in the attacking department, as Pablo Hernandez will leave the club after the end of the season. Helder Costa, Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo Moreno are all facing an uncertain future as well, which could potentially force Bielsa to enter the market for a new attacker.

Amid all these changes, the continued presence of someone like Jack Harrison could bring about a sense of stability in the Leeds United camp. Having spent three seasons at Elland Road, the Englishman is quite familiar with Bielsa’s tactical philosophy, which also goes hand in hand with his style of play.

Although there is no doubt that Harrison will have to cope with additional competition in the left-wing role next season, he is more than capable of making the desired impact, having done so numerous times already for the Whites. And for a fee of just £15 million, the Manchester City winger could indeed be a bargain for the Yorkshire outfit this summer.
