Rangers have already conquered the Scottish Premiership and are eyeing a double now by clinching the Scottish Cup. But they have a major hurdle to overcome with a rejuvenated Celtic set to test the Gers’ resolve in the fourth round fixture. Although Steven Gerrard’s men have dominated this season’s Old Firm derbies, the Hoops are determined to salvage something from a dreadful campaign.

Celtic are back in momentum following a 6-0 triumph over Livingston. This has uplifted their spirit ahead of the Ibrox tie and John Kennedy, the interim Bhoys chief, must ensure a win to extend his unbeaten managerial stint. They clinched the Scottish Cup glory last season defeating Hearts in a thrilling tiebreaker, and Kennedy’s men are eyeing their first win this term against Rangers. Have a look at how we think Gerrard will lineup Rangers Vs Celtic on Sunday.

Jon McLaughlin was handed a start in the previous round versus Cove Rangers, but the Scotsman is expected to make way for his fellow countryman Allan McGregor who has been majestic all season with his stewardship between the sticks.

Skipper James Tavernier is closing in on an injury return, but the aggressive right fullback won’t be rushed for the Celtic clash. Nathan Patterson is free to deputise for the Englishman thanks to Rangers’ appeal against SFA’s verdict. The towering central defensive pairing of Connor Goldson and Filip Helander should keep a close watch on the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Mohamed Elyounoussi. Borna Barisic must make his presence known from the left-hand flank with overlapping runs, crosses and set-piece attributes.

Ryan Jack’s absence is a major setback, but the expertise of Steven Davis has restored stability in the middle of the park. The 36-year-old Northern Irishman must dictate the tempo from his deep-lying role, and his presence would allow the likes of Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara to operate in the advanced areas with their relentless runs and ball-carrying ability.

The Bears have ample attacking options in their ranks. Yet Steven Gerrard must rely on Alfredo Morelos to occupy the ‘number 9’ spot ahead of Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe. The Colombian grabbed the equaliser in the last Old Firm, and he must look to add a few more having broken the jinx finally with his first-ever derby goal. Ianis Hagi has impressed of late, but the flexibility and firepower of Kemar Roofe must get the preference from the right-hand flank. Ryan Kent would look to cause menace from his usual left-wing slot.
