In a recent report, Todo Fichajes has claimed that Liverpool are willing to pay €100m for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer. It is understood that Dortmund are demanding €120m for the England international but the Reds have no choice but to wait for him as the German outfit will only make a decision on his future in the summer (via Todo Fichajes).

Sancho’s Productive Season In German Football

The 21-year-old is having another impressive season at the Signal Iduna Park after putting in a run of productive displays as a key member of the Dortmund attack. Sancho has registered 12 goals and 16 assists in 32 matches for the German club this term across all fronts.

Despite missing some important matches with a muscle injury, the London-born talent has been a consistent performer for the German giants as he is averaging 2.1 shots, 2.7 key passes and 3.1 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga this season. He has also distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 82.5% in league football (stats via whoscored).

Sancho is still under contract at Dortmund until the summer of 2023, so it would take a big fee for the Reds to even stand a chance of acquiring his services before the start of the new campaign.

What Will The English Youngster Bring To Anfield?

Sancho boasts electric pace in his locker which he can use to breeze past his marker in the opposition half. He has made a habit of completing some dangerous dribbles out on the wide areas and is proficient at creating space for himself to get a few shots in on-target.

The 18-time England international has transformed himself into a composed finisher in the attacking third and can also create some meaningful openings for others around him. Hence, we can expect him to bring plenty of goals and creativity to Anfield if Klopp can get him on board in this off-season.

At 21, Sancho is a generational talent, so he could be an ideal long-term successor to either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah at Merseyside. The English prospect will also add a lot of pace and dynamism to the ageing Reds frontline that has failed to be consistent in the final third this season.

Will all things considered a player of Sancho’s skillset and potential could help Jurgen Klopp’s side challenge for the Premier League title once again next season. Hence, Liverpool should try everything they can to bring him to the northwest of England this summer.
