In a recent report, Bild has mentioned that Liverpool are eyeing a move to land Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer. It is believed that the English wide player could be sold by Borussia Dortmund in this off-season with the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp eager to seal a move for him (via Bild).
Sancho’s Outstanding Numbers At Signal Iduna Park This Season
Sancho is enjoying another fruitful season in Germany because he has been responsible for putting in several eye-catching performances as an influential member of Dortmund’s attack. The 21-year-old has participated in 33 matches for the German club this term across all competitions.
The London-born wing wizard has been a consistent performer for Dortmund as he is averaging 0.7 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 2.0 shots, 2.7 key passes and 3.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in this Bundesliga campaign. He has even been excellent when distributing possession in the opposition half after making 82.2% of his attempted passes in the German first division (stats via whoscored). However, the former Manchester City star has missed several matches this season due to a muscle injury.
Sancho is yet to taste success at the highest level. Hence, he could be tempted with the opportunity to join Jurgen Klopp’s revolution at Anfield where he will have a more realistic chance of winning some silverware in the coming seasons. At 21, the English attacker has the potential to become a generational talent over the next few years.
What Will The England International Add To Jurgen Klopp’s Side?
Sancho is blessed with electric pace that allows him to breeze past his marker to get to the byline or cut in and cause some problems for the opposition centre-backs. He has proven himself to be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal and can also set up a few clear-cut chances for others around him.
Hence, we can expect him to add plenty of goals and assists to Klopp’s frontline if the Reds can figure out a way to bring him to Merseyside during the summer transfer window. Sancho is good enough to nail down a regular first-team place at Anfield and would serve as an excellent long-term successor to either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah.
With all things considered, the 18-time England international will be a terrific addition to Liverpool’s match-day squad ahead of the new season as he has all the skill set required to help the Merseysiders challenge for the Premier League title in the years to come.
