In a recent report, Corriere Granato has mentioned that Chelsea are among several clubs hoping to recruit Torino forward Andrea Belotti. It is understood that the Blues will face heavy competition from many other clubs from England, Italy, Spain and Germany in pursuit of the talented striker (via Corriere Granato).

Belotti’s Impressive Numbers For Torino This Season

The Italian frontman has experienced another impressive season at Turin after putting in a series of productive displays as the focal point of Davide Nicola’s attack. Belotti has banged in 11 goals and secured six assists in 27 appearances for the Italian side this term across various competitions.

The 27-year-old has given a good account of himself in the attacking third as he is averaging 3.3 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in this Serie A campaign. However, he needs to distribute the ball a bit better because he has only completed 70.3% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

The way Belotti has been playing this season, it is no surprise that a club of Chelsea’s size are showing interest in acquiring his services. He will be a good addition to Thomas Tuchel’s squad as he has what it takes to earn regular starts at Stamford Bridge next season.

What Will The Italian Centre-Forward Add To Thomas Tuchel’s Team?

Belotti is a moderately paced striker and can get himself into some dangerous areas in and around the opposition penalty area. He has transformed himself into a lethal finisher during his time at Torino and usually packs a lot of venom with his shot attempts.

The Calcinate-born marksman is also a decent dribbler with the ball and has got a good work ethic when running the channels in the opponent’s half. He possesses the strength to hold the ball up for his teammates and has got a great leap in him as well. However, the Italian has sometimes been guilty of losing possession cheaply in the final third, which he needs to rectify if he intends to be a success story at the top level.

At 27, Belotti is currently playing at his prime, so Tuchel can expect to see the best from him over the next few years if he can lure him to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Italian sensation will undeniably add more goals and creativity to the Chelsea frontline and is good enough to be a perfect long-term successor to Olivier Giroud at West London. Furthermore, Belotti could also help the Blues win some major trophies in the years to come, making him an excellent choice for Tuchel to consider during this summer transfer window.
