Wolverhampton Wanderers will entertain West Ham United at the Molineux Stadium on Monday night as they look to earn a much-needed victory at home. The West Midlands club suffered a hard-fought 1-0 defeat against Liverpool before the international break. Therefore, Nuno Espirito Santo will be desperate to get a positive response from his players versus the Hammers next week.

Wolves could set themselves up in a 3-4-3 formation and are expected to be unchanged for this game. However, Nuno Espirito Santo will be sweating on the fitness of Rui Patricio who is still recovering from his head injury.

Defence

Rui Patricio should start in goal for Wolves if he can make himself available for this game. Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to name a back three of Romain Saïss, Conor Coady and Willy Boly as the centre-back trio look to keep West Ham’s Michail Antonio in check throughout the 90 minutes.

Ki-Jana Hoever and Max Kilman will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the centre-back positions.

Midfield

Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho will anchor the Wolves midfield and are expected to carry most of the creative workload in the opposition half. The dynamic duo will have to figure out a way to find some holes in the West Ham backline with their ball distribution on Monday night.

Jonny Otto will operate as a wing-back down the left flank while Nelson Semedo looks to impress on the right-wing. Both of them need to focus on making some overlapping runs out on the wide areas.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Leander Dendoncker will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.

Attack

Pedro Neto will be a nailed-on starter as the left-sided wide player while Adama Traore looks to stretch the Hammers defence from the right flank. Willian Jose will continue to spearhead Nuno Espirito Santo’s attack down the middle.

Daniel Podence is unlikely to be risked in this game, so Fabio Silva will make up the numbers on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
