Rangers have finally ended their decade-long humiliation and conquered the coveted Premiership crown. They have knocked Celtic off the Scottish perch and the transformation has been sublime since Steven Gerrard took over back in the summer of 2018. Most of his signings have been exquisite, but the £50,000 arrival of Glen Kamara from Dundee has been the greatest bargain in recent years.

The Finland international is closing in on his 100th appearance for the Bears and the club, too, are keen on tying him down on a new long-term deal. The player has admitted the ongoing contract talks but, at the same time, is yet to commit his future as per the Daily Record.

“There’s been some talks. The season’s been good, obviously, we’ve just become champions. It’s been a success so far. I still have two years left on my contract and there’s still time over the summer to see what will happen.”

Revealed the player who is recently in news for the alleged racial abuse during their Ibrox defeat against Slavia Praha. They got knocked out from the Europa League Round of 16, but the deeds of Ondrej Kudela is now a matter of investigation of various governing bodies.

Why Rangers Must Tie Him Down In The Long Run

Kamara, meanwhile, failed to shine at Arsenal before joining Dundee and has finally justified his potential this season by making his presence known in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old midfield ace is known for his mobility, technical traits and vision. Also, his work rate, intelligence and creative spark make him one of the most composed names of Scottish football. He is equally impressive for his nation and the upsurge in recent months has grabbed the attention of the hotshots of Europe’s top five leagues including Leeds and Borussia Dortmund.

Rangers, however, have already extended Steven Davis’ stay for one more year and should now focus on tying down Kamara who is a perfect fit in Gerrard’s set-up. His utilization of space, timely pressing and holding attributes make him unplayable on most occasions. The status of the Champions League is much higher than that of Europa and Kamara is indeed one of those stars capable of meeting the standards of Europe’s most prestigious competition.

Celtic, on the other hand, are set to undergo a reconstruction prior to the upcoming campaign. A new manager, as well as a director of football, would get appointed to close the gaps with their Old Firm rivals. Rangers, therefore, can’t afford to lose a player of Kamara’s stature.
