In a recent report, El Gol Digital has claimed that Everton are eyeing a move for Real Madrid playmaker Lucas Vazquez who will become a free agent at the end of this campaign. However, it is believed that the Toffees could face competition in the form of AC Milan, Real Betis, Leeds United, Inter Milan and Manchester United in pursuit of the Spanish wide player (via El Gol Digital).

Vazquez’s Impressive Campaign At The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

The 29-year-old has experienced another solid season at the Spanish capital after producing some productive displays for Zinedine Zidane’s side down the right flank. Vazquez has registered two goals and seven assists in 31 appearances for the Spanish outfit this term across all competitions.

The talented winger has often been unleashed as a right-back this season because of his versatility and influence at both ends of the field. He is averaging 2.3 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 0.9 shots, 1.9 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League this season. The Real Madrid academy graduate has even been accurate when distributing the ball, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 88.4% in both those competitions (stats via whoscored).

Vazquez has won multiple trophies with his boyhood club, so this summer could be an ideal chance for him to switch clubs as a free agent. Goodison Park will be a good destination for him as he will be guaranteed regular playing minutes under the stewardship of an experienced manager like Carlo Ancelotti.

What Will The Spain International Bring To Merseyside?

Vazquez is a quick and agile winger who loves to dribble with the ball and deliver some inviting crosses from the wide areas. He is primarily a right-sided wide player but can fill in as a right-back or as a right wing-back if needed.

The nine-time Spain international has a great work ethic and can get himself into some promising positions in the attacking third. He also packs a lot of power with his shot attempts and can score and set-up his fair share of goals from the right flank.

Vazquez will be a brilliant long-term successor to Seamus Coleman at Goodison Park and might add another dimension to Everton’s attack because of his offensive skill set. Plus, the Spanish sensation will significantly enhance the quality of Ancelotti’s first-team and might propel the Toffees to breaking into the Premier League’s ‘Top Four’ in the years to come.

With all things considered, the Merseyside club would be wise to acquire Vazquez’s services when the transfer commences later this year as he will be available as a free agent and would solve a problem area that Ancelotti needs to address in his squad.
