Il Milanista has recently reported that West Ham United have made a €35m offer for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri. It is believed that the Hammers have launched a move for the Morocco international as David Moyes is still looking to add some cover for Michail Antonio at the London Stadium (via Il Milanista).
En-Nesyri’s Prolific Goal-Scoring Record For Sevilla This Season
En-Nesyri is having another outstanding season at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium after producing several match-winning performances as the focal point of Julen Lopetegui’s attack. The Fes-born sensation has been involved in 34 matches for the Spanish outfit this term, banging in 17 goals in the process across multiple competitions.
The 23-year-old is a clinical finisher in front of the opposition goal but has struggled to contribute in any other meaningful way in the attacking third as he is averaging 2.0 shots, 0.4 key passes and 0.4 dribbles per game in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League group stages this season. He has also been sloppy when distributing the ball, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 68.7% in both those competitions (stats via whoscored).
En-Nesyri is a consistent goal-getter, but his all-round offensive contributions have left a lot to be desired. However, West Ham can benefit from recruiting a new striker who can find the back of the net regularly and serve as a back-up to Michail Antonio, who remains Moyes’ only recognised senior forward.
What Will The Moroccan Sensation Add To David Moyes’ Team?
Standing at 1.89m, En-Nesyri can use his strong frame to win some important headers for his side and can often overpower the opposition to get a few shots in on-target. He has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in Spain but needs to work on improving his all-around game if he wants to be successful at the highest level.
The 35-time Morocco international has decent pace under his belt and can make some clever runs in the final third. He has got a good work-rate which makes him such a priceless member of Sevilla’s match-day squad.
Signing someone of En-Nesyri’s goal-scoring ability will be a massive coup for the Hammers as he has all the skillset to become a regular goal-scorer under David Moyes’ tutelage in the coming seasons. At 23, the Sevilla star has his peak years ahead of him and could prove to be a shrewd addition to the West Ham squad if Moyes can figure out a way to bring him to the English capital during the summer transfer window.
