Manchester City locked horns with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium earlier this evening hoping to win and secure progression in the next round of the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola’s men dominated the ball in the first 45 minutes and took the lead at the half-hour mark when Kyle Walker found the back of the net. The visitors kept dominating and went into the half-time interval one goal to the good.

Raheem Sterling kept his good form going by banging in Man City’s second goal in the 47th minute. Gabriel Jesus put daylight between the two sides just three minutes later before Morgan Whittaker scored a consolation goal late in the game. The contest ended with the Mancunian giants earning a comfortable 3-1 win away at Wales.

Let’s take a look at how each Man City player fared during the match against the Swans.

GK: Zack Steffen – 6/10

The Man City goalie hardly had a save to make in the game and kept an easy clean sheet at the back.

RB: Kyle Walker – 7.5/10

Walker gave his team the all-important lead in the 30th minute. He was also solid defensively throughout the 90 minutes.

CB: Eric Garcia – 6.5/10

The Spaniard kept things tight on the defensive end of the field and passed the ball quite well out from the back.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 7/10

Laporte won some important aerial duels for his side and cleared the danger well when called into action.

LB: Benjamin Mendy – 6.5/10

The French left-back didn’t have too much defending to do and created one good chance during the game.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 7/10

The German midfield ace was bright and creative with the ball but got substituted early in the second half.

CM: Rodri – 8/10

The Spanish talent cut open the Swans defence time and time again with his clever passes. He ran the show in midfield and has got two great assists to show for his efforts.

CM: Bernardo Silva – 7/10

Silva worked hard to keep hold of the ball and retained possession immaculately for his team. He got substituted in the second half.

LW: Raheem Sterling – 7.5/10

Sterling was a constant nuisance for the Swansea defenders and will be quite happy after getting his name on the scoresheet.

ST: Gabriel Jesus – 8.5/10

The Brazilian striker had one of his best games of this season. He created all kinds of problems for the Swans and got rewarded with a goal in the 50th minute.

RW: Ferran Torres – 7/10

Torres kept the ball moving with ease and was not shy of having a few shots at goal. However, there was no goal for him this evening.

RW: Riyad Mahrez – 6/10

He didn’t get too many chances to score.

CM: Tommy Doyle – 6/10

Doyle had a couple of shots and brought some energy onto the field.

CAM: Phil Foden – 6/10

The English playmaker gave way the ball a couple of times and didn’t have much to show for his efforts.

CM: Claudio Gomes – 6/10

He offered some fresh legs in midfield.
