Chelsea entertained Luton Town at Stamford Bridge earlier this afternoon hoping to win and book a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Blues made a brilliant start to the game as they scored two quick-fire goals courtesy of a brace from Tammy Abraham. However, the visitors gave themselves a lifeline when Jordan Clark found the back of the net at the half-hour mark. The West London giants went into the half-time interval with a narrow one-goal lead to show for their efforts.

Frank Lampard’s men dominated the ball in the second 45 minutes and finally managed to kill the game off in the 74th minute when Abraham completed his hattrick. The contest finished with Chelsea securing a comfortable 3-1 victory at the English capital.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player performed during the match against Luton Town.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6.5/10

The Spanish keeper made a couple of solid saves but won’t be happy after failing to keep a clean sheet this afternoon.

RB: Reece James – 8.5/10

James did what was asked of him when defending inside his half. He also created several goal-scoring chances for his teammates from the right flank and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

CB: Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

He kept things tidy at the back and was quite careful when passing his way out from the back.

CB: Kurt Zouma – 7/10

Zouma was strong in the air and was not shy of clearing his lines when needed. He did enough to contain the opposition to just one goal.

LB: Emerson – 7.5/10

He didn’t do too much wrong on the defensive end of the field and was a lively presence in the Luton half. Emerson also engineered a few decent chances for his teammates during the game.

CM: Mason Mount – 7/10

The English midfield ace worked hard to help his teammates out in defence and was always willing to have a shot at goal. However, there was no goal for him today.

CM: Billy Gilmour – 6/10

Gilmour kept things neat inside his half but struggled to influence the game in the final third.

RW: Hakim Ziyech – 6/10

Ziyech failed to find the cutting edge inside the opponent’s penalty box and never looked like he had a goal in him.

CAM: Timo Werner – 6/10

The German international missed a couple of decent chances but was mostly quiet during the 90 minutes.

LW: Christian Pulisic – 7.10

He was always willing to test the opposition keeper with a shot from long range.

ST: Tammy Abraham – 9.5/10

Abraham scored a fantastic hattrick which made the difference between the two teams. It was a near-perfect display from him today.

Substitutes:

LW: Callum Hudson-Odoi – 6/10

The youngster had a few bright moments after coming off the bench.

ST: Olivier Giroud – 6/10

The Frenchman didn’t do enough to get himself a goal.

 CAM: Kai Havertz  – 5/10

He struggled to get a foothold in the game.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – N/A

Kovacic did not get enough time to warrant a rating.
