Tottenham Hotspur travel to Rossett Park on Sunday as they take on Marine FC, in the third round of the FA Cup. It will be Marine’s first match against top-flight opponents, with Spurs themselves playing against a non-league opponent in the FA Cup for the first time since 1995 – allowing Jose Mourinho to rest some of his key players.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup Vs Marine FC

We should see a complete overhaul in the defensive department for Tottenham, with Mourinho keeping one eye on the important Premier League fixture against Aston Villa next midweek.

The two premier central defenders in Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier, in particular, are set to make way for Japhet Tanganga and new signing Joe Rodon. Both of these individuals have struggled with a lack of game-time, so it will be an exciting opportunity for them to gain some minutes.

Mourinho is also expected to recall both Matt Doherty and Ben Davies, at the expense of two fullbacks in Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon. In addition, there should be a change in goal, with Hugo Lloris making way for Joe Hart in between the sticks.

In the midfield department, Mourinho had to physically stop Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from entering the field shortly after sustaining a foot injury in the game against Brentford. The Dane is guaranteed to be given a breather in this encounter, thus paving the way for Harry Winks to start.

Another change in midfield could see the young Harvey White come into the side ahead of Moussa Sissoko in the double-pivot. The English duo should provide cover for their fellow countryman Dele Alli, who should operate in the number ten role. It will be interesting to see how the playmaker performs in this fixture, following a disastrous 2020.

Further changes are expected in the offensive department, with Son Heung-Min, and Harry Kane both guaranteed to settle for a place on the bench. Even Lucas Moura may have to sit out for this one, thus enabling Jack Clarke to receive a rare starting opportunity.

The former Leeds United attacker could operate at right-wing, with Steven Bergwijn starting on the opposite flank. These two will attempt to provide the supply for the lone striker Carlos Vinicius. The Brazilian is hoping for a good game after he looks to earn a prominent role in Mourinho’s first-team plans.
