Barcelona will play hosts to Juventus at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night having already booked their place in the knockout phases of the UEFA Champions League. However, the Catalan outfit suffered an unexpected 2-1 defeat away at Cadiz in their last outing which will dampen their spirits heading into this midweek game versus Andrea Pirlo’s men.

Ronald Koeman will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and might rest a lot of his first-team stars for this European clash at home. Hence, we can expect to see the likes of Pedri and Francisco Trincao get a start in place of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen could be rested in midweek, so Neto might get a start in goal for Barca after he kept a clean sheet versus Ferencvaros last Wednesday. Óscar Mingueza is expected to partner Ronald Araújo at the heart of Barca’s defence as they try to keep the Juve attackers at bay in midweek.

Sergiño Dest should retain his place at right-back while Junior Firpo fills in on the other side as the left-back. Koeman will ask both of them to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back so that they can stop the opposition from getting too much joy out on the wide areas.

Clement Lenglet could get a rest on the bench following his heavy involvement in recent weeks.

Riqui Puig could play along with Miralem Pjanic as the holding midfielders as they focus on retaining possession well at the centre of the park and engineer some promising goal-scoring opportunities in the opposition half. The talented trio of Ousmane Dembele, Pedri and Francisco Trincao will function just ahead of them as part of the Catalans attack. Dembele managed to register a goal versus Ferencvaros earlier this month, so he will be confident about producing a similar display versus the Italian giants in midweek.

Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann are likely to be rested on the bench but could come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Martin Braithwaite will get the nod to lead the line for the home side up top. He found the back of the net in his last appearance in Europe, so we can expect him to be a potent threat inside the opponent’s penalty box on Tuesday night.
