His role model is the greatest manager of all time - Jose Mourinho.

David Moyes’ high-flying West Ham United side climbed into fifth place of the Premier League table after a comeback 2-1 win against Marcelo Bielsa’s well-drilled Leeds United setup. As it was last weekend against Chelsea, it was the home side that actually took the advantage in the tie, with a Mateusz Klich penalty putting the Whites in the lead. Tomas Soucek levelled things up with a strong header a few minutes later, before a late strike by centre-half Angelo Ogbonna ensured that the Hammers picked up their 6th win of the campaign.

Lukasz Fabianski – 7

The keeper was helpless with regard to the first-half penalty, but he made up for it with his performance for the rest of the evening. Made an important save off a Rodrigo header late on as well.

Vladimir Coufal – 7

The full-back’s work-rate and energy were unmatched by a lot of players on the pitch, and his ability to keep the ball and move it forward is gradually going to become an asset for them too.

Fabian Balbuena – 7

The centre-half came close to scoring over the course of that fixture and was defensively rather solid too. Never looked overly fazed by the Leeds attackers and held his own against them.

Angelo Ogbonna – 7

The big centre-half had a couple of shaky moments, including a penalty shout that he was lucky to get away with. Stepped up when it mattered and scored the winner in the late stages.

Aaron Cresswell – 7

The speedster was playing in his natural full-back role, and he did extremely well. Didn’t allow the wingers space to run in behind and delivered an excellent cross to Ogbonna for the goal too.

Jarrod Bowen – 7

Played in an absolute peach of a ball to find Tomas Soucek for his goal in the first half. Lacked some much-needed cutting edge in the final third but looked dangerous going forward.

Declan Rice – 9

The Englishman ran the show in the middle of the park as he made multiple key interceptions to frustrate Bielsa’s men. Sat in front of the back-line in an efficient manner and offered solid protection.

Tomas Soucek – 9

Like his partner in the West Ham engine room, the lanky midfielder kept the ball moving and worked his absolute socks off in the core of the team. Rose well to head home the equaliser as well.

Pablo Fornals – 6

Wasted what looked like a glorious opportunity in the second half and was merely a spectator for large chunks of that fixture. Both his output and general ball-playing need to improve heavily.

Said Benrahma – 7.5

The summer signing was undoubtedly the Hammers’ brightest spark in attack, and he came close to finding the net on a couple of instances. Looked lively and full of confidence as well.

Sebastien Haller – 6

The tall striker didn’t have his best game leading the line for the Hammers, and Moyes will be eagerly waiting for Michail Antonio to return to full fitness. Played multiple loose passes too.
