Barcelona will entertain Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night hoping to pick up maximum points at their home turf. The Catalan outfit managed to grind out a 1-0 victory versus Levante last weekend which will give them some momentum heading into this La Liga encounter in midweek.
Ronald Koeman will probably go with the 4-3-3 formation and might be inclined to name Pedri in his starting XI at the expense of Matin Braithwaite for this home clash in midweek. However, it won’t be an easy game for Barca as they will come up against a Sociedad team who are currently sitting pretty at the top of the league table.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Real Sociedad
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will operate in goal for Barca after he kept a clean sheet in his last league outing. Koeman might go with the centre-back duo of Clement Lenglet and Ronald Araújo as they try to stop the Sociedad attackers from creating too many chances during the 90 minutes.
Sergiño Dest will fill in as the right-back while Jordi Alba looks to produce a productive display on the left flank. Both of them will get the license to join in on the attack but can also expect to do a lot of defending with the opposition looking to expose their weaknesses on the counter.
Midfield
Koeman’s midfield will be composed of Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets and Pedri. The talented trio will be responsible for establishing their superiority at the centre of the park and will be expected to create some decent chances for their teammates up top.
Miralem Pjanic and Riqui Puig will be available for selection on the bench as they await their chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Philippe Coutinho will lineup as the left-sided wide player while Antoine Griezmann looks to impress on the other flank. Lionel Messi will once again spearhead Koeman’s attack down the middle. The Argentine attacker will be expected to do most of the damage up top.
Martin Braithwaite might have to be content with a spot on the bench but could come on in the latter stages of the contest if required.
