Crystal Palace will clash heads with Leeds United at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon hoping to earn a victory on their home turf. The Eagles suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend which has disrupted their momentum. Therefore, the South London outfit will be desperate to secure all three points against the Whites this weekend.

Roy Hodgson will once again opt for a 4-4-2 formation with James McArthur expected to start in midfield in the absence of Luka Milivojevic who is suspended for this game after picking up a red card versus Wolves.

Defence

Vicente Guaita will play in between the sticks for the Eagles after he shipped in two goals in his last league start. Scott Dann and Cheikhou Kouyaté will operate at the heart of Hodgson’s defence as they look to stop Patrick Bamford from finding the back of the net this weekend.

Nathaniel Clyne could get another chance to impress as the right-back while Patrick van Aanholt fills in on the other side at left-back. Both Crystal Palace full-backs will focus on maintaining a solid defensive shape at the back so that they can limit the chances that Leeds create from the wide areas.

Gary Cahill and Tyrick Mitchell are both minor doubts for his clash, but Mamadou Sakho will be available for a spot on the bench.

Midfield

Jaïro Riedewald will retain his spot in midfield where he will be joined by James McArthur who will replace the suspended Luka Milivojevic. Both players will have to find a way to stop the opposition from dominating possession at the centre of the park.

Jeffrey Schlupp will get another chance to prove his worth as the left-winger while Andros Townsend looks to put his pace to good use down the right flank. Eberechi Eze will have to be content with a place on the bench but might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the match if needed.

Attack

Wilfried Zaha will once again partner Michy Batshuayi up top. The dynamic pair failed to make a breakthrough versus Wolves last weekend but will be hoping for a more fruitful afternoon when they lace up to face the Leeds defenders on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke will make up the numbers on Hodgson’s bench.
