Manchester City played hosts to Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium earlier this afternoon hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants made a dominant start to the game and scored the opener in the 23rd minute courtesy of Raheem Sterling’s goal. However, the Gunners showed some resistance and went into the half-time break one-goal down.

The second half was more of the same with Man City pushing on in search of the decisive second goal. However, the North London outfit kept things tight right until the end as Pep Guardiola’s men grinded out a hard-fought 1-0 win at home.

Let’s take a look at how each Man City player fared during the match against the Gunners.

GK: Ederson – 7.5/10

The Brazilian goalie pulled off a couple of solid stops to keep his clean sheet intact and performed flawlessly to see out another win at the Etihad Stadium.

CB: Kyle Walker – 7/10

The English international kept things tight at the back but struggled to create too many chances in the offensive end of the pitch.

CB: Ruben Dias – 8/10

Dias showed great resilience under pressure and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring. He has got a well-deserved clean sheet to show for his efforts.

CB: Nathan Ake – 7.5/10

The ex-Bournemouth talent did well to mark Nicolas Pepe out of the game and will be quite happy after securing a shutout today.

RM: Riyad Mahrez – 6/10

The Algerian wing wizard was not afraid to get on the ball but failed to find the telling touch in the final third.

The talented youngster kept possession well for his side and made some driving runs in the opposition half. He ended the game with an assist to his name which will please Guardiola.

He was sloppy on the ball but did enough work in midfield to help his side get maximum points today.

LM: Bernardo Silva – 7.5/10

The Portuguese playmaker was full of energy and running but failed to make a meaningful contribution in the attacking third.

ST: Raheem Sterling – 7.5/10

The English speedster scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half and was a constant menace for the Arsenal defenders. However, he was also guilty of squandering some decent opportunities to score during the game.

The Argentine striker got some valuable game time under his belt, but he was far from his best.
