Wolverhampton Wanderers will lock horns with Newcastle United at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday evening as they try to secure another positive result in the Premier League. The West Midlands outfit managed to earn an impressive 1-0 victory over Leeds United on Monday night which will give them a lot of momentum going into this home clash versus the Magpies.
Nuno Espirito Santo could opt for a 3-4-1-2 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this weekend’s encounter against Steve Bruce’s men.
3-4-1-2 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Newcastle United
Rui Patricio is expected to start in goal for Wolves after he secured a well-deserved clean sheet against the Whites earlier this week. The West Midlands club could once again lineup with a back three of Max Kilman, Conor Coady and Willy Boly for this upcoming showdown against the Tyneside outfit.
All three centre-halves will have to work hard towards stopping Newcastle’s Callum Wilson from scoring during the 90 minutes. Ki-Jana Hoever will have to settle for a spot on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker will play as the holding midfielders while Pedro Neto operates in a more advanced role as an attacking midfielder. All three of them have to collectively put in a good performance if Wolves are to come out on top this weekend.
Romain Saiss will get the nod to start on the left flank while Nelson Semedo looks to produce another tireless display on the right. Fernando Marcal and Ruben Neves will have to settle for a place on Nuno Espirito Santo’s bench but could feature as the impact substitutes in the second half if needed.
Daniel Podence will once again lead the charge along with Raul Jimenez up top. Jimenez scored the only goal of the game versus Marcelo Bielsa’s men on Monday, so he will fancy his chances while going up against a Newcastle defence that shipped in four goals against Manchester United last weekend.
Adama Traore will be used off the bench as his pace and goal-threat make him an ideal impact substitute for Nuno Espirito Santo to call upon in this important league showdown at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday.
