Reigning Premiership champions Celtic continued their unbeaten run in the league after picking up a 3-2 victory over Livingston at Celtic Park. The away side were gifted an early lead by the referee after Kristoffer Ajer was judged to have handled the ball in the box. Although former Rangers man Jason Holt smashed it in, the home side were able to complete their comeback within minutes. Callum McGregor levelled things up with a heavily deflected strike before Ryan Christie helped regain the advantage with a simple tap-in. Albian Ajeti then scored a peach of a goal in the second half, before Livingston got one back in the late stages. Despite a nervy ending to the fixture, Lennon’s men were able to see out the win and ensure that they kept up with the pace being set by Rangers at the top of the table.

Celtic Player Ratings Vs Livingston

Vasilis Barkas – 6.5

The Greek keeper made one smart save to deny a Livingston goal, but was helpless concerning the early penalty that they conceded. Tried to launch the ball forward quickly as well.

Hatem Abd Elhamed – 6.5

The versatile defender was deployed as the part of a mobile back-three tonight. Wasn’t allowed the attacking freedom as usual, but tracked back and did quite a bit of defending as well.

Shane Duffy – 7

The Brighton loanee looks a class apart in terms of meeting attacking set-pieces in the box. Wasn’t overly troubled by the Livingston attacking but dealt with most situations efficiently.

Kristoffer Ajer – 7

The young centre-half put up a dependable performance at the back, but it was his hand-ball that led to the Livingston goal in the first half. Dashed forward with the ball at times too.

Jeremie Frimpong – 7

The full-back used his pace extremely well tonight as he was deployed in a slightly more advanced role than usual by Lennon. Played a couple of delicious crosses into the box that deserved a goal.

Scott Brown – 6.5

The skipper played the exact role that he usually does and spread the ball all over the park. Despite picking up a couple of good positions in the box, it was his error that led to the second Livi goal.

Olivier Ntcham – 6.5

The midfielder ensured to keep the ball moving in the middle of the park but didn’t have the impact he might have been hoping for in the final third. Fluffed a couple of shots at goal as well.

Callum McGregor – 7

Although the Scot was perhaps fortunate that his strike took a massive deflection before finding its way into the net, it must be conceded that McGregor deserved a goal. Supremely composed on the ball.

Greg Taylor – 7

The speedster got up and down the pitch in a highly efficient manner tonight as it was his ball in that led to Christie’s goal. Never looked flustered in the possession and tracked back well at times too.

Ryan Christie – 7.5

The speedster was deployed as the second striker tonight as Lennon decided to mix things up in attack. Played a beautiful ball into Ajeti after scoring one himself earlier on in the tie.

Albian Ajeti – 8

The Swiss striker didn’t have the most influential of first halves, but he did well to setup McGregor for his goal. Showed his quality in the second period with a brilliant finish for the Celts’ third
