Premier League champions Liverpool celebrated the lifting of their trophy on the back a thrilling 5-3 victory over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side tonight. The Blues were stunned on by Jurgen Klopp’s men in the first-half as they smashed three goals past them within the opening forty-five. Olivier Giroud got one goal back for the Blues in stoppage time prior to the break though.

It was the home side that struck first in the second half as well, but Lampard’s substitutions had an impeccable impact. Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi produced two sensational goals between them, with the American showing multiple glimpses of brilliance. Despite this, a late winner by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ensured that the Champions League places would be decided on the final day of the season.

Here Are The Chelsea Player Ratings Vs Liverpool:

Chelsea Player Ratings Vs Liverpool

Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6.5

The Spaniard wasn’t necessarily to blame for any of the Liverpool goals tonight, as he was beaten by various moments of brilliance by the champions. Made a couple of smart saves to limit the Reds.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 6.5

The Chelsea skipper put in a pretty solid shift down the right side of central defence tonight as he watched Sadio Mane with great concentration. Tried to get forward and link up play too.

Antonio Rudiger – 5.5

The German had multiple shaky moments over the course of the ninety, and perhaps needs to be more dynamic when dealing with set-piece situations as well. Played some good cross-field passes though.

Kurt Zouma – 6.5

The Frenchman was given a torrid time by the movement of Salah and Firmino, but he dealt with a lot of the Reds’ aerial attempts to penetrate the Chelsea box. Made a couple of vital blocks as well.

Reece James – 7

The Englishman didn’t allow Robertson a moment of rest at the back in the second half as he charged forward on every opportunity. Picked up some good positions and crossed the ball well.

Jorginho – 6

The Italian looked to go on the front foot in the first-half, but dropped back into his usually defensive position in the second period. Moved the ball around with composure, but did get caught on the ball.

Mateo Kovacic – 6.5

The Croatian maestro made a couple of decent dribbles from the Chelsea engine room tonight, but wasn’t allowed space to run into by the Liverpool midfield. Tried to make things happen in transition.

Marcos Alonso – 6

The Spanish speedster picked up some dangerous positions in the final third of the pitch during that tie, but failed to deliver the required quality while attacking. Defensively struggled though.

Willian – 6

The Brazilian was quite simply ineffective in the final third for Lampard’s side tonight as he failed to make the ball stick. Worked hard tracking back and never really stopped running until coming off.

Olivier Giroud – 6.5

The French veteran didn’t have the impact he might’ve been hoping for in attack, but he did well to be in the right place at the right time to score the first-half Chelsea goal. Tried to link up play as well.

Mason Mount – 5.5

The English youngster was unable to produce any quality in the Liverpool defensive third tonight, as he was watched thoroughly by the Reds’ back-line. Hauled off in the second period.

Christian Pulisic – 8

The American had an instant impact after entering the pitch at the hour mark, as he beat four Liverpool defenders before putting it on a plate for Abraham. Took the next goal himself in amazing style.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 7

The trickster used his pace and ball-carrying abilities to excellent effect tonight as he injected some energy in the Blues’ attack after coming on. Produced a peach of a cross to find Pulisic.

Tammy Abraham – 7

The English striker came on and offered Lampard’s side something extremely different from Olivier Giroud. His pace was a concern for the Reds and he did well to tap into an unguarded net.

Emerson – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.
