Manchester United will clash heads with Tottenham Hotspur on Friday evening hoping to resume their Premier League campaign with a win on the road. The Red Devils were enjoying a three-match winning streak across all competitions before the football world came to a standstill because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba back for this highly anticipated league encounter versus Spurs.

The Mancunian outfit could lineup in a 3-4-1-2 formation with Rashford expected to lead the line while Pogba settles for a spot on the bench.

David De Gea will resume his goalkeeping duties in between the sticks for the Red Devils looking to earn a clean sheet away at the English capital. Solskjaer might be inclined towards opting for a three-man backline comprised of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. All three defenders will have to maintain a high line and neutralise the threats of both Harry Kane and Heung-min Son if they intend to secure a shutout on Friday.

Both Brandon Williams and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will operate as the wingbacks on either side of the Man United first-team. They will both focus on pressing the opposition high up the pitch to win the ball back quickly and provide adequate support for the front players on the break.

Nemanja Matic and Fred will anchor the midfield as they look to breakdown some of the Tottenham attacks and establish Man United’s dominance at the centre of the park. Bruno Fernandes will play just ahead of them in the number ten position as he looks to create some decent chances for Martial and Rashford up top. The Portuguese playmaker will be expected to cause sorts of problems for the Spurs defenders based on his recent form for his new club.

As mentioned earlier, Paul Pogba might have to settle for a spot on the bench but may come on as an impact substitute during the latter stages of the game if Solskjaer decides to call upon his services.

Marcus Rashford will lead the charge alongside Anthony Martial upfront. Both the Man United strikers will be hungry for goals on Friday as they target a poor Spurs defence that has conceded 40 goals in 29 league matches so far.

Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo and Daniel James will make up the numbers on Solskjaer’s bench.
